Mongolian journalists learn about “Legal Empowerment of the Poor”

Mr. Sudarshan, UNDP Bangkok Regional Adviser gave a lecture to Mongolian journalists on “Legal Empowerment of the Poor” at the Press Institute of Mongolia. Through telling about the real life cases showing negative consequences of the lack of the full protection of the rule of law, Mr. Sudarshan emphasized the importance of promoting the agenda in Mongolia. “Making the law work for everyone, especially the poor and marginalized is essential in order to give them a chance to better their lives and climb out of poverty”, he says.
He also shared with journalists news about the establishment of a Legal Empowerment Asia Partnership in the Regional Centre in Bangkok, following a regional dialogue on the subject.
